Back in 2008 I had the opportunity to shoot fashion images for the summer clothing collection of East Sider, a famous Mauritian brand. The outside setting, close to Alexandra Falls, was a nice place to do this shooting, although backgrounds were a little too busy to me (too many trees, disturbing the reading of the images).

Amateur models Mayssoun Mar and Kitty Philipps did a great job, and East Sider promotion campaign was a success.

I was surprised, one year later in 2009, to even find a shop fully painted with my images 🙂

As a brief introduction, here are some recent images of my 2 lovely kids, Chloé who is 2 years and 9 months old, and Simon, 1 year and 1 month old. Seeing them growing and experiencing life is really great and funny 🙂

A fews weeks ago, Lombard International Assurance in Luxembourg contacted me to create a new image database for them. This database would include images of their new building, conceptual images and portraits. I have been shotting portraits for them for more than a year now, but this was a very unique opportunity for me to get familiar with complete corporate image processes.

The first part of the shooting took place last week over 2 mornings. We focussed our work on the building reception areas, which were designed and furnished by a famous interior architect. I will publish some images of those areas soon, but first I would like to present some detail images I really find nice.

Corporate portraiture is a really interesting activity : it has to be efficient and quick, you can easily bring in new and original ideas and you can have a quick chat with important decision makers and visionnaires. Matt Moran certainly is one of them, as Chief Financial Officer of Lombard International Assurance, the leading pan-european life insurer. The photo session lasted 10 minutes and was fun.

This is the offical launch of Pixel in the Box blog, a special milestone in my communication strategy. I would like it to be lively and interactive; I would like to get as much feedback as possible. I will share my photography activities and experiences, and my life as a small business owner. I will try to provide advice regarding photography and original “out of the box” vision. Welcome to Pixel in the Box blog !!
