For twice in a row (2007 and 2009) I was an official photographer of the greatest and largest hot air balloons gathering: the “Mondial Air Ballons” in Chambley, France. One of my best friends Etienne “Titi” Schertz is part of the organisation team (“Pilâtre de Roziers”), thus I was asked to take some images of the event, which takes place every 2 years in an old air base in Lorraine, France. In 2009, for the first time, I went into a balloon and took a flight: it was such a wonderful and peaceful experience ! From up there, silence is the master, although you can hear very well what’s happening below on earth 🙂 What was even more exceptional during this take-off is that 329 balloons took part of it at the same time, on 2 super long lines … world record ! Here are some images from 2007 and 2009 gatherings; check them in large, this worths the view !
